Common questions
What do people ask before they call?
Short answers to the questions we hear most. For your own situation, call (208) 555-0132.
How much does it cost to talk to a Boise injury lawyer at Callan Injury Law?
The first consultation at Callan Injury Law is free. If we take your case, we work on a contingency fee. That means our fee is a percentage of any money recovered for you, agreed in writing before any work begins. Read how our fees work.
How long do I have to file an injury claim in Idaho?
In Idaho, most personal injury claims must be filed within 2 years of the injury. Some deadlines are much shorter. A claim against a city, county or the state usually needs a written notice within 180 days. Call us early so no deadline slips by.
Should I talk to the other driver's insurance company?
You can give them basic facts, like your name and your insurance details. It is wise to wait before giving a recorded statement or signing anything. Their adjuster works for their company. We can handle those calls for you.
What if I was partly at fault for the crash?
Idaho uses a rule called modified comparative fault. It means you can still recover money if your share of the blame is less than the other side's. Your recovery is reduced by your share. We look at the facts with you and explain where you stand.
Will my case go to court?
Most injury claims in Idaho are resolved without a trial. Some are not, and we prepare every case as if it could go to court. You decide whether to accept an offer. We explain each option in plain words first.
Can you meet me if I am still in the hospital?
Yes. Nora Callan can meet you at the hospital, at your home or by phone or video anywhere in the Treasure Valley. You do not need to come to our Boise office to get started.
